fire next time

the wide wide ocean i have seen
completely covered in gasoline
never saw the rainbow so slick and sheen
never saw the rainbow so vile and obscene

my faucet drains into the sea
but i wont let that bother me

ocean claimed cities and spat back whales
seaweed and wrack for garbage pails
all prisoners were freed from their jails
only to drown beneath the sails
of capsized boats and navy coats
octopi surfaced only to float
like a discarded rug in a nobleman's moat

the ocean spat spires into the sky
like a horn into a matadors eye
tore it open and down did fly
tongues of flame that began to fry
plains and the mountains turned them to dust
stripped paint from cars let them rust
leaving nothing but a black charred crusted
fire does what it does it does what it must

after the fire burned the oil off of the sea
and it flowed back over the barren country
ha ha hee hee from dust was it made
and dust it shall be
